The Renewed Goku is the tenth episode of the Frieza Saga and the eighty-fifth overall episode in the uncut version Dragon Ball Z series. The original Japanese title is "Machi ni Matta ze, Kono Shunkan!!! Son Goku ga Fukkatsu da" (待ちに待ったぜ、この瞬間!!! 孫悟空が復活だ). The episode first aired on April 10, 1991. It's original American air date was October 4, 1999.

The episode begins with Vegeta recalling the attacks he tried to pull on Frieza but how Frieza was too fast for him. Frieza then tells Vegeta that he is not a Super Saiyan. This angers Vegeta and he shoots a large blast at Frieza, but he dodged it easily. Vegeta started shooting hundreds of blasts at Frieza but they kept missing. Piccolo then knew for sure that Vegeta was no match for Frieza as his blasts were right on target but still missed. Next Frieza appears right in Vegeta’s face. Angry as ever, Vegeta calls him a lunatic, flies in the air and launches a devastating blast at Frieza. Frieza just kicked it and it went right back to Vegeta. Vegeta was able to avoid it, but only narrowly. Now Vegeta had used up all of his energy, so Frieza began to go on the offensive. Frieza first began with a few head butts. Vegeta fell in the water but not for long as Frieza fished him out by draining the water. He then began to kick Vegeta like a soccer ball. Next it was Vegeta’s turn to be a punching bag and Frieza choked Vegeta with his tail and punched him in the back repeatedly. Krillin, Piccolo, and Gohan watched with agony and fear as they were helpless to do anything. Meanwhile, Goku had finally recovered and broke out of the Rejuvenation Tank and Frieza's Spaceship.
