The Bankoku bikkuri-sho (万国 びっくり掌, Bankoku bikkuri-shō; Literally meaning "International Surprise Palm") is an energy wave attack used by Jackie Chun.

Usage

Jackie shoots a lightning blast towards his opponent using both of his hands and traps them within an electric field that, according to Yamucha in the English dubs, turns every cell in their body into electricity.

History

Dragon Ball

The Bankoku bikkuri-sho was used by Jackie in his match against Son Goku at the 22nd Tenkaichi Tournament. Jackie preferred not to use this attack because it was extremely lethal and dangerous, but he thought Goky could survive it. Before using it against Goku, Roshi stated that he had only needed to resort to this attack once before – against Grandpa Son Gohan. The Bankoku bikkuri-sho was normally inescapable, however, Goku was able to transform into a Great Ape at the sight of the full moon, as night had arrived by this time in their match.

Dragon Ball Z

Piccolo's version of the attack

Piccolo used a very similar attack against Son Gohan in his Great Ape form when he was going crazy from the Blutz Waves being generated by a holographic full moon emitted by Son Goku's Attack Ball nearby.

Video games

It is named Mankoku Kyoutenshou in the Budokai Tenkaichi video game series and is Turtle Hermit's Ultimate Blast in his base form. Interestingly, Turtle Hermit says, "Lightning Surprise" when using it.
