The Freeza Clan (フリーザ 一族, Furiiza Ichizoku)[1] is an obscure race.

History
Not much is known of their origins as their homeworld was never mentioned. All known members of this race have been from a solitary family line, known by fans as the "Royal Family". They have all been apparently employed under Freeza's Force, which they also likely run. As they gained power, they created for themselves new forms to disguise their actual battle power from opponents and allies alike, possibly hinting at an untrusting civilization. Cooler was shown to be the only one with more than four transformations. Transforming into their next form greatly increases their battle power, leading to the idea that the forms worked like buffer zones to hold in such intense levels of energy.
Overall, they are definitely shown to be the strongest race in the North Galaxy, possibly the known universe, at the time of their highest success. The members of this race we see in the series were shown to be galactic overlords, collectively running a group known as Freeza's Force. They would hire and then enslave many other races (most notably the Saiyans) to eradicate a planet's populous, and then they would sell the planet to the highest bidder. It is unsure for how long this race had been in control of the galaxies, but it had been at least before the beginning of the Saiyan-Tuffle war (720 Age to 730 Age). Their dominance officially ended with the deaths of the Royal Family. Both Cold and Freeza met their final ends at the hands of Future Trunks Brief in 764 Age, while Cooler met his end at the hands of Son Goku a short time later.
Origins
The homeworld of this race is unknown. They are shown to own many planets and mostly reside in spaceships traveling between the worlds their organizations are currently operating on. Freeza is said to own 79 planets, and his brother even more at 256 planets.
Language
During the fight between Freeza and Goku, Freeza spoke to Goku in his native language. Briefly, he said, "Let's get down to business." This could mean that there was, or once was, a civilization of the Freeza Clan. (This dialogue is only in the original FUNimation dub. It does not exist in the Japanese dub or the FUNimation dub of Dragon Ball Z Kai.)
Dragon Ball Z
Zarbon called Freeza a transforming-type alien (変身型 宇宙人, henshin-gata uchūjin), however, that was also the same phrase he used to describe himself.
Games
They are named Furiiza Ichizoku (フリーザ 一族, Furiiza Ichizoku) and Teiō no Ichizoku (帝王 の 一族, Teiō no ichizoku) in Miracle Battle Carddass Dragon Ball Kai.
Racial abilities
Some members of the race were shown to possess the ability to transform into several forms, each holding different power and speed capabilities. They were all capable of surviving even the most horrific injury and were able to survive even in the vacuum of space.
Transformations
First Form
The first form is very short and not very muscular. While in this form, Freeza is shown to have more than enough power to kill King Vegeta and blow up Planet Vegeta, both with ease. According to Dragon Ball: Daizenshū 7, Freeza has a battle power of roughly 530,000 while in this form.
Second Form
The second form looks somewhat similar to the first, except it is noticeably taller, extremely bulky, and looks more intimidating overall. In this form, Freeza's battle power skyrockets to surpass 1,000,000. He has no problem easily picking apart Vegeta, Kuririn, and Son Gohan. It was not until Piccolo arrived after fusing with Nail that Freeza has any sort of challenge while fighting.
This form is likely the transformation King Cold used during his first appearance in Dragon Ball Z.
Third Form
Next is the third form, which looks less humanoid than the other forms. This form has a reformed mouth, elongated head, and spikes sprouting from the back. After the newly powered up Piccolo arrived and proved to be too much for Freeza's second form, Freeza transforms into this form, raising his battle power again, though not as dramatically as the change from his first to his second form. Once he takes this form, Freeza far outclassed Piccolo.
Fourth Form
The fourth form is similar to the first form in terms of size and bulk, but with smoother skin structure. Freeza’s version of this form is completely white except for purple plates on his chest, head, shoulders, lower arms and legs. Cooler's version is significantly different. When Freeza took this form, Piccolo and Vegeta proved to be no match for him. When Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan, however, Freeza quickly found himself outmatched in every way, causing him to resort to his 100% power Fourth Form.
1% Power Fourth Form (Base fourth form)
Freeza only used 1% of his full power when he first transformed into his fourth form. In this form, his battle power was 1,200,000.[2] He was able to easily killed Vegeta even after he was healed from a near death injury. This form met its match when Goku arrived on the battlefield.
50% Power Fourth Form
Freeza heightened his power to half of his full potential after deciding that this was the total amount of power it would take to defeat Goku. There was very little change in Freeza's appearance as compared to his 1% power Fourth Form, except for very slightly increased muscle mass, but his battle power rose to a staggering 60,000,000. In this form, Freeza was far stronger than before, being able to outclass Goku in almost every way. When Goku went Kaio-ken x20, however, he was nearly able to fight evenly with Freeza. In this form, he narrowly survived Goku's Spirit Bomb, which was formed with the energy of all remaining life on Planet Namek and the surrounding planets/stars.
100% Power Fourth Form

Here, the power of the fourth form is pushed to its full extent. Freeza's battle power rose dramatically from 60,000,000 to 120,000,000 when transforming from his 50% power Fourth Form to this transformation. After the power up, the muscle bulk greatly increased. In the anime, after his power was fully unleashed, Freeza was amazingly able to fight on par with Super Saiyan Goku, albeit for a very short period of time. Because of the amount of power the form uses, Freeza's Ki was quickly used up as he fought.
In the manga, when Freeza transforms into his 100% power Fourth Form, his muscle mass, while still increased, did not increase as dramatically as in the anime. Additionally, in the manga, even at 100% Freeza was never a match for Super Saiyan Goku.
Fifth Form
The fifth and most powerful form was only seen being used by Cooler, who used this form against Goku and nearly destroyed the planet. This form proved absolutely no match for the mighty Super Saiyan Goku, however, who utterly annihilated Cooler and blasted him and his Supernova into the Sun.
Freeza's last form was his 100% power Fourth Form. He was unable to transform into the form that his brother, Cooler, had.
Synthetic modifications
The healing ability of Freeza's Clan is powerful, but not all non-fatal wounds can be completely healed. In such cases, technology is available to not only heal to affected areas, but also to increase the overall power of the recipient. After Goku nearly destroyed Freeza on Planet Namek, Freeza's body was augmented with such mechanical components.
In a bizarre turn of events, the defeated and all-but-destroyed Cooler was thrown into the Big Gete Star, a giant machine planet with which he somehow fused. The result was a much more powerful form of Cooler with highly enhanced regenerative capabilities. Aside from the enhancements, the new Meta-Cooler entity was able to produce hundreds of copies of itself, and even a gigantic version.

Trivia
- The race is first witnessed during the Freeza Saga.
- Chilled, another new member, appears in Ooishi Naho's Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock manga spin-off.
- The species seem to be mammals, as Freeza mentions "parents" meaning he had both a mother and a father.
