Babidi's Force

Main article: Babidi's Force

Yamu and Spopovich in Dragon Ball Z.

The son of the powerful wizard Bibidi, Babidi used a spell spell to take control of a number of prime fighters. Babidi's Force made their debut with Yamu and Spopovich, who were sent to the 25th Tenkaichi Tournament in "Who Will Fight Who?" to steal energy from other contestants so that Babidi could resurrect his father's ultimate creation, Majin Buu. Upon receiving the energy, Babidi betrayed and murderd Yamu and Spopovich with help from another minion, Puipui. Babidi also had control over the King of Demons (not to be confused with Piccolo Daimao, alternatively known as Demon King Piccolo), Dabura, whose spit was enough to overpower Krillin, Piccolo, and Kibito. At his base of operations, Babidi unleashed Puipui and yet another minion, Yakon, on Son Goku, Son Gohan, Vegeta and East Kaioshin. It was during these battles that Dabura learned that Vegeta was vulnerable to Babidi's spell, and after reporting this to the wizard, Babidi cast his magic on Vegeta, turning him into a Majin. Later, when Majin Buu had been hatched from his magical ball, Babidi took some degree of control over the creature, mostly through bribery. With Goku's persuasion, however, Majin Buu killed Babidi and defected to the Z Warriors' side. With Babidi and his subordinates either dead or free from his possession, the wizard's influence crumbled and became a thing of the past. Although Majin Buu inadvertently created his Evil, Super, and Kid counterparts, they had no association with Babidi and on the contrary, Babidi was one of the few villains in Hell to cheer on Goku to defeat Kid Buu because of the grudge he held against the creature.

Coola Armored Corps

Main article: Coola Armored Corps

The Coola Armored Corps ambushing Goku and his friends.

Coola Armored Corps (クウラ 機甲 戦隊, Kūra Kikō Sentai; FUNimation "Coola's Mechanism Corps") was a mercenary platoon who worked closely with Coola, the brother of Freeza. They made their debut in Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge where they watched on their screen Freeza destroy Planet Vegeta. They then noticed a Saiyan Pod containing a Saiyan infant leave the planet, but Cooler thought it was Freeza's problem as he was in charge of that sector. Decades later, Cooler discovered that his brother had been killed by a Saiyan and vowed to reestablish his family pride. He departed for Planet Earth with the Coola Armored Corps to kill Son Goku and destroy Planet Earth. They ambushed Goku and Son Gohan was forced to obtain Senzu to heal his father. Upon his return, he was attacked by Salza, the leader of the Coola Armored Corps. Piccolo saved him and proceeded to kill the other two members of Coola Armored Corps, Dore and Neiz, but had trouble fighting against Salza. A battle between Coola and a fully healed Goku ensued which resulted in Coola being plummeted into the Sun. As the group celebrated, Salza reappeared and prepared to unleash an attack that could overpower the Z Warriors in their state, but he was suddenly countered by Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon. Thus, the Coola Armored Corps' three members, Salza, Dore, and Neiz, were each killed by Piccolo.

Crusher Tullece Corps

Main article: Crusher Tullece Corps

The Crusher Tullece Corps awaiting the Z Warriors at the Shinseiju.

The Crusher Tullece Corps was a mercenary platoon who worked for Tullece, a low-class Saiyan who bore an exact resemblance to Goku. They appeared inDragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might. A probe they had sent to Planet Earth started a fire that completely destroyed a forest. Later, the Crusher Tullece Corps arrived on Earth and planted the Seed of the Shinseiju which grew into the Shinseiju, a tree that sucked the life of the planet on which it was planted and left it a desert. Goku, Kuririn, Yamucha, Tenshinhan, and Chaozu attempted to destroy the Crusher Tullece Corps, but were unsuccessful. It was not long before they were confronted by the members of the Crusher Tullece Corps, Daiz, Cacao, Raisin, Rakasei, and Amond. Their leader, Tullece, watched the encounter from inside his spaceship. Gohan arrived and joined the battle after he had rescued Chaozu from Raisin. He was personally invited by Tullece to join his Crusher Tullece Corps. Gohan refused and was saved in time thanks to the arrival of Piccolo. Using a Power Ball, Tullece forced Gohan to transform into a Great Ape and set him against Goku, who eventually managed to cut his son's tail off and restore him to normal. The Crusher Tullece Corps then attacked Goku, who retaliated and killed them using the Kaio-ken. A showdown ensued between Goku and Tullece, and Goku had the upper hand until Tullece pushed his power further by eating a Fruit of the Shinseiju. Slowly recovering while Tullece was distracted by the rest of the Z Warriors, Goku decided to use the Genki Dama. Unable to gather energy from living beings, Goku decided to use the stolen energy inside the Shinseiju itself. Eventually successful in creating the Genki Dama, Goku saw his opportunity and fired it straight into Tullece, who was carried up the trunk of the Shinseiju and destroyed along with the tree when the Genki Dama exploded.

Dodoria's Elite

Main article: Dodoria's Elite

Dodoria's Elite confronting Bardock after he discovers his ravaged friends.

Dodoria's Elite (ドドリア の 精鋭, Dodoria no Seiei) was an elite platoon who worked closely with Dodoria, one of Freeza's most esteemed underlings. They made their debut in Dragon Ball Z: Bardock: The Father of Goku. All four members of the squad (excluding their leader) were nameless characters. Their captain (credited on various film websites as the "Horned Gang Leader") bore a resemblance to Zeeun, one of Slug's subordinates, as his skin was colored orange and he had horns and long brown hair. Another elite was clearly of the same race as Appule and had amethyst-colored skin with gold specs. The other members included a Frog-like creature with a red headcrest (credited on cards as "Frog-face") and a green Fish-like humanoid who appeared to be of the same race as the grunts in Slug's Demon Clan. These four accompanied Dodoria to Planet Meat where, under Freeza's orders, they executed Bardock's Planet Elite Force (sans Bardock, who during this time was resting in a Saiyan infirmary). When Bardock discoverd his ravaged comrades, he was assaulted by Dodoria's Elite. He managed to dominate the elite-class fighters though. The Appule-like soldier fired several energy waves at Bardock, only to have his skull caved in, and Bardock used the Fish-like soldier as a shield to defend from an oncoming energy wave. The Frog-like soldier took hold of Bardock, who was briefly distracted by his foresight, while the Zeeun-like soldier rapidly punched the Saiyan. When Bardock recovered, he spun the Frog-like soldier around and the Zeeun-like soldier accidentally punched a hole through his back. Bardock then launched a large energy wave at the elites, killing both. Dodoria soon after arrived to overpower Bardock, however, leaving him for dead.

Four Monarchs

Main article: Four Monarchs

The Four Monarchs

The Four Monarchs (スパイス の 男の子, Supaisu no Otokonoko; FUNimation "Spice Boys") were four Makyans who replaced Garlic Jr.'s original crew that had consisted of Ginger, Nicky, and Sansho. They were under the command of Garlic Jr. during the Garlic Jr. Saga. They were strong, brave, evil, and totally devoted to Garlic Jr. The leader was Spice, a white-haired, blue-skinned warrior and the most handsome of the four. Salt was a short and stubby red-skinned warrior with a Mongolian-type hat. Both Mustard and Vinegar were large, brawny, muscled brutes. Salt nearly killed Krillin with an energy blast, forcing Son Gohan to unleash his hidden powers, killing both Salt and Mustard with a Masenko. After Spice and Vinegar charged up their power from Planet Makyo and pumped up their bodies, they began pounding Gohan and Krillin. Vinegar nearly killed Krillin, sending Gohan off the edge once more and resulting in another angry eruption from the young Saiyan, obliterating both Spice and Vinegar simultaneously in midair.

Their names are derived from condiments: Mustard, Salt, Spice, and Vinegar.

Freeza's Force

Freeza's Elite

Main article: Freeza's Elite

Freeza's most esteemed henchmen, Dodoria and Zarbon, after escaping from Hell in Dragon Ball GT.

Freeza's Elite (フリーザ様 御 一行, Furiiza-sama O-Ikkō; Literally meaning "Mr. Freeza's Honorable Party") was run by Freeza, the self-proclaimed "Lord of the universe" who spent hundreds of years controlling an interplanetary empire and dominating the planet broker trade. His forces made their debut with Raditz, who was sent to Earth in "The New Threat" ("The Arrival of Raditz" in the edited anime) to investigate the planet's status and recover his brother, Kakarrot, (now known as Goku). However, Raditz made no mention of Freeza, instead simply citing that the Saiyans were responsible for planet broking. It was not until the episode "Held Captive" that the universal threat Freeza posed was first described. Freeza's most esteemed henchmen, and possibly those who he had collaborated with the longest, were Dodoria and Zarbon, each who acted as his closest advisers and military commanders. Both oversaw the destruction of the Saiyan race, with Zarbon suggesting that the Saiyans be eliminated before they formed a rebellion and Dodoria participating in the extermination of the most powerful Saiyan platoon. Decades later, Vegeta executed both Dodoria and Zarbon on Planet Namek, although initially a transformation used by the latter got the best of the Saiyan. In addition to the Saiyan race in general, other known followers of Freeza included Appule, Blueberry, Cui, Raspberry, and Namole.Abo and Kado were also shown to be former mercenaries of Freeza's empire in Dragon Ball: Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!. Malaka could also be seen presiding over Freeza's conversion into a machine. The Ginyu Special Corps was also among the soldiers employed by Freeza, although unlike most mercenaries who did Freeza's bidding, the Ginyu Force were simply freelancers who were favored by the tyrant. In addition to these known followers, countless other unnamed soldiers in Freeza's empire also appeared in the series, mostly during the climax of Bardock: The Father of Goku.

In the Budokai Tenkaichi video game series, the playable character Freeza Soldier is representative of these countless tertiary followers.

Bojack, leader of the Galaxy Soldiers

The Galaxy Soldiers were a mercenary platoon who worked closely with Bojack, a ruthless alien formerly locked inside of a star by the Kaios of the universe. They made their debut in Dragon Ball Z: Bojack Unbound. With North Kaio's death following the destruction of his planet during the Cell Games, the link holding Bojack trapped was shattered, leaving him to make his escape. Tracking the energy coming from the Cell Games to Earth, Bojack traveled to the planet accompanied by the Galaxy Soldiers: Bido, Bujin, Kogu, and Zangya. Infiltrating a Tenkaichi Tournament funded by X.S. Cash for his son's birthday, Bojack sought to eliminate every single fighter on Earth in order to be rid of any obstacles in the way of universal conquest. While the Galaxy Soldiers frequented the arenas, Bojack waited calmly in a ruined city where the final challenge of the tournament was meant to take place. Eventually, the mercenaries gathered the bodies of Future Trunks (who was successful in slaying Kogu), Krillin, Yamucha and Tenshinhan. Gohan, the only fighter who still stood, lashed at Bojack but was interrupted by the Galaxy Soldiers whilst Bojack watched on. Eventually, Gohan ascended to Super Saiyan 2 and effortlessly wiped out both Bujin and Bido. Becoming desperate despite insisting that Gohan could not stop him, Bojack sacrificed his fearful, remaining underling, Zangya, when he pushed her towards Gohan and fired an energy wave straight through her. Gohan evaded this, prompting the delirious Bojack to attack head-on only for Gohan to land a punch straight through the tyrant's stomach. Bojack launched his ultimate attack, the Galactic Buster, which Gohan counterd with a Super Kamehameha. The two energies clashed and resulted in an explosion through which both Gohan and Bojack rushed through to attack each other, however, one final punch into the flash of light by Gohan ultimately killed Bojack.

The Ginyu Special Corps (ギニュー 特 戦隊, Ginyū Toku Sentai; FUNimation "Ginyu Force"; Literally meaning "Ginyu Specialized Squadron") was an elite mercenary platoon that worked closely with Ginyu, a mutant with the dangerous ability to exchange bodies with his unsuspecting foes. They made their debut in "Unknown Enemies" where Freeza sent for them to discipline Vegeta and recover the Dragon Balls stolen by the Saiyan. In spite of being some of the most prime fighters of their time, the arrogant members of the Ginyu Force delighted in coming up with strange poses, betting on fights using candy, and playing rock-paper-scissors to decide the order in which they should fight. The overall surprise Freeza displayed when they arrived on Planet Namek seemed to imply that had never grown accustomed to their goofy attitude. The strongest member of the team was Ginyu himself, who for the majority of his appearances in the series occupied the body of a horned, purple-skinned mutant, though he was capable of exchanging bodies at will. Recoome was a large brute with orange hair who used numerous barbaric techniques which he prefered to title after himself. Burter was a tall, blue reptilian humanoid who fancied himself the fastest being in the universe next to Freeza, and combined many of his energy attacks with Jeice, a handsome soldier with red-pigmented skin and long white hair. The fifth member was Guldo, a short and stubby amphibious humanoid with four eyes and an assortment of telepathic abilities. Sans their leader, the Ginyu Force's Recoome, Burter, Jeice, and Guldo were each killed by Vegeta.

Hell's Warrior Gang

The villains from Hell uniting in Dragon Ball GT.

Hell's Warrior Gang (地獄 の 戦士団, Jigoku no Senshidan) were villains who had been sent to Hell. They caused much trouble with the guards, Gozu and Mezu, when they tried to find excuses to escape. Goku and Pikkon teamed up to defeat Freeza, Cell, King Cold, and the Ginyu Special Corps. They escaped Hell with greater numbers in Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn. Gohan, Videl, Goten, and Trunks defeated all of them. During the Super 17 Saga Dr. Mu and Doctor Gero created Hell Fighter No. 17, who released them all again. After they were all defeated again, Piccolo was sent to Hell to keep the villains in order.

King Vegeta's Elite

Main article: King Vegeta's Elite

King Vegeta

King Vegeta's Elite was led by the king of Planet Vegeta, King Vegeta, although he was not its ultimate ruler as during this time the Saiyan race was under Freeza's segregation. His forces made their debut in "Secret of the Dragon Balls" with Goku, who had been sent to Earth 12 years prior to prepare the planet for Freeza's planet trade, but lost sight of this after an accident left him a permanent amnesiac. While most of the known Saiyans had proudly served King Vegeta, Paragus and his son, Broly, were among the Saiyans who disagreed with the king's naïve ways, and because of this arrogance Paragus and Broly were nearly killed. The two exiles plotted to take their revenge through the Saiyan prince, Vegeta. King Vegeta's strict mannerisms had also resulted in the exile of his own son, Tarble. Eventually King Vegeta staged an invasion of Freeza's Spaceship in an attempt to rescue his son (who at this time was nowhere near the ship, as he was carrying out orders on another planet), to which Freeza retaliated by killing King Vegeta and his royal guard and launching a Supernova through Planet Vegeta, exterminating all but a handful of Saiyans. Significant followers of King Vegeta included Bardock, Borgos, Fasha, Nappa, Raditz, Shugesh, Tora, Vegeta, Zorn, and initially Paragus. Malaka and Planthorr were also presiding doctors at a Saiyan hospital.

Sigma Force without Natt

Mega Cannon Sigma was General Rild's top mercenary force and was made up of Nezi, Natt, Ribet, and Bizu. The Sigma Force was first encountered in the 16th and final episode of the Black Star Dragonball Saga, "Giru's Checkered Past". In the episode "Pan's Gambit", Rild realized that Pan was in the base. He sent Nat to deal with her. The robot seemed to be winning with ease, but then Pan figured out that Nat could only predict moves she had done before. She combined some of her moves with Goku's and destroyed the robot. Later, when the Sigma Force battled against Goku in "Unexpected Power", the Sigma Force (with the exception of Natt) fused together to create one mighty robot, the Sigma Force Cannon.

Phantom Saiyans

Main article: Phantom Saiyans

The Phantom Saiyans (幻 の サイヤ, Moboroshi no Saiya-jin) were a group of Saiyans who appeared in Dragon Ball Z: Kyoshu! Saiyan. Curiously, five of the seven Phantom Saiyans bore no resemblance to the Saiyans of the mainstream series and were instead original characters modeled after preexisting characters in the series. They were comprised of Brock and Onion (two otherwise nameless filler characters from Dragon Ball Z whom FUNimation dubbed Shorty and Scarface, respectively, Shinamon (who had the appearance of a gray-skinned Sansho), Kyuukonman (who had the appearance of an orange-skinned Saibaiman), Herb (who had the appearance of a red-skinned Nicky), Jasmine (who had the appearance of a blue-skinned Ginger), and Kaiwareman (who had the appearance of a blue-skinned Saibaiman). Of the seven Phantom Saiyans, Onion was the only one shown capable of transforming into a Great Ape.

Pilaf Gang

Main article: Pilaf Gang

Mai, Pilaf, and Shuu

The Pilaf Gang was led by Pilaf, a short imp who desired to take over the world using the Dragon Balls. His two most significant henchmen were Shu and Mai. It was implied a couple of times early in the English dubs that he had other minions as well, but they were unseen. One notable thing of Pilaf was that he had a disposable amount of resources. The original base for his forces was his castle in the Diablo Desert. When Goku turned into a Great Ape and destroyed it, he got a new base which was a flying fortress that was later shot down by Silver's troops. One significant thing they later acquired were the Pilaf Machines, giant battle robots that they used to fight Goku because the Pilaf Machines were a bit more closer to Goku's strength in battle. Piccolo Daimao was released from imprisonment by Pilaf. This ultimately backfired when Piccolo Daimao took over and made his own forces. The Pilaf Gang returned to interrupt Goku and Son Chichi a couple of more times on their quest for the Basho Fan. In video games, it was implied that Castle Pilaf was rebuilt sometime after the Piccolo Jr. Saga. The Pilaf Gang were shown as still together in Dragon Ball GT and accidently used the Black Star Dragon Balls to turn Goku into a kid.

The Planet Elite Force (惑星 の エリート の 力, Wakusei no Erito no Chikara; FUNimation "Bardock's Elite"; Literally meaning "Planet's Elite's Power") was a crew of low-class Saiyan soldiers led by Bardock, best known as the father of Goku. They made their debut in Bardock: The Father of Goku. The platoon was comprised of Bardock and four other soldiers: Tora, Fasha, Shugesh, and Borgos. Together, the five made a living by traveling to various planets where they decimated the defenses of these civilizations and prepared them for Freeza's planetary market. After clearing a society on Planet Kanassa, a weakened survivor emerged and caught Bardock off-guard and instilled into the Saiyan the ability of precognitive foresight. Bardock was still out of commission when the other four capable soldiers were instructed to clear the civilization of Planet Meat. Before long during their visit to the planet, the group encountered one of Freeza's most esteemed minions, Dodoria, and his elite who, by Freeza's orders, betrayed and made short work of the Saiyans. Bardock was later informed that his team had accepted an offer on Planet Meat. Pursuing them, he discovered his ravaged comrades, and to some fortune found that Tora was alive but in critical condition. Vowing to avenge the four, Bardock was suddenly assaulted by Dodoria's Elite, although for a low-class Saiyan he was able to dominate the elite-class fighters until Dodoria launched a Super Mouth Blast that overpowered Bardock and left him for dead. Bardock barely survived this attack and struggled to return to Planet Vegeta where he immediately began spreading the word of danger, but his panic only led bystanders to believe Bardock was overreacting after having finally met his match during a typical mission. Terrified, Bardock took to the skies where Freeza's Spaceship was orbiting in a last ditch effort to throttle Freeza's plan to eradicate the Saiyans. Freeza stepped out into the orbit of Planet Vegeta where he encountered Bardock, who insisted that the Saiyans refused to be further oppressed and commanded by the tyrant. When Bardock attempted to kill Freeza using a Final Spirit Cannon energy wave, Freeza retaliated by laughing manically as he expanded a charging Supernova. Within moments, the Supernova was set free from Freeza's fingertip and careened through numerous bystanding soldiers en route toward Planet Vegeta. Bardock was among the first to be consumed by the ball of energy.

The Red Ribbon Army symbol

The Red Ribbon Army (レッドリボン軍, Reddo Ribon Gun) was officially led by a diminutive Commander Red. The goal of the Red Ribbon Army was to use any means necessary to obtain the Dragon Balls and wish for world takeover, yet Red secretly planned to wish to be a taller person. Since he was a very short person, he despised being around those who were taller than himself.

When Staff Officer Black found out about Red's plan, he killed the commander and took control of the Red Ribbon Army and, in the anime, re-named the organization the Black Ribbon Army. The entire army was defeated when a young boy named Goku sought to stop the army's evil ways by infiltrating the fortress and killing Black in the midst.

It is noted that every single officer in the Red Ribbon Army are intentionally named after a certain color (with the exception of Dr. Gero, who was actually named after a number/mechanical part.).

The grunts of Slugg's army confronting the people of Earth.

Slugg's Demon Clan was led by Slugg, a Super Namekian who began traveling across the universe organizing an army to assist in the conquering of further planets after he was exiled from the Namek homeworld. His forces made their debut in Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug when they visited Earth in an attempt to transform the planet into a pseudo-spacecraft by freezing its atmosphere and using it to carry them to new planets. The henchmen who worked closest with Slug were Zeeun, Angila, Wings, Medamatcha, Kakuja, and Gyoshu. Countless other soldiers who appeared to be of the same race as one member of Dodoria's Elite also served as grunts in Slug's army, however, these soldiers had a relatively low battle power, as Son Chichi demonstrates by besting several of them to protect Gohan. Aside from Gyoshu, Zeeun, Kajuya, and a number of grunts – who Slug himself killed at various points of the film – Slug's henchmen were slain by Piccolo and Goku. Wings was killed by an energy wave to the face, Medamatcha was pummeled to death, and Angila swallowed a deflected Mouth Energy Wave. In the final battle against the Super Namekian, Piccolo, Gohan, and Goku plotted together to defeat Slug.

Z Warriors

The Z Warriors (Z 戦士, Z Senshi; FUNimation "Z Fighters") were a small group of incredible fighters located on Earth. Their duty was to defend Earth from major threats and to protect the seven mystical Dragon Balls from the hands of evil. The Z Warriors were not officially organized in any way because it was simply a group of super fighters who all shared the same interest of protecting their home. However, they all stoof together whenever possible to fight off enemies. Goku was the de facto leader of the group due to his incredible success rates against villains in the Dragon Ball series, victory over the Saiyans, and his victory over Freeza (Krillin even mentioned in "Upgrade to Super Saiyan" that Goku was in command).
