Honourable mentions: Kid Gohan - amazing potential, Cell - great combination of attacks although stolen from the Z-fighters, Broly - the strongest person throughout all the series, best brutal attacks but loses points as a character because of the crap way in which he dies and the crap sequeals in which he is always killed in pathetic ways.

1. Vegeta (Obviously...The Prince of all Saiyans. Over-confident, strong, and filled with Saiyan pride.)
2. Cell (The greatest villain in all of Dragonball. He has the greatest fighters DNA in his being and can use their techniques.)
3. Piccolo (Highly intelligent and an awesome fighter.)
4. Goku (He loves to take on a challenge, even if the challenge is greater than him.)
5. Future Trunks (He has great range of attacks and he uses a sword.)
6. Krillin (I dubbed Krillin "The One Hit Wonder" but still has an awesome range of attacks.)
7. Broly (Insanely strong, took on all of the Z warriors on and held his own.)
8. Gohan (Even though he doesn't like to fight, he will fight if he has to. This also includes Future Gohan.)

10. Bardock (He had the ability to see into the future and tried to fight against Frieza.)

1. Gogeta- I'm not a fan of Dragon Ball GT but if they made a canon version of Super Gogeta, it would be so awesome.

6. Broly- He's amazing in his first movie but I don't like how he was able to survive that mutilation and come to Earth. Anyway, he's so mentally unstable that he was stronger than Goku until Goku borrowed power from all of the other Z Fighters on that planet.
7. Vegeta- Vegeta is a powerful Saiyan warrior with less power than Goku, but more intelligence than Gohan.
8. Goku- He is the main character of everything of the Dragon Ball series. He normally just borrows energy from others but when he's working alone he's still pretty strong.
9. Chiaotzu- He may be short and small, but he's telekinetically enginered and has the ability to use any attack that he's ever seen.
10. Android 16- He uses so many amazing attacks that just blew away Imperfect Cell. He also was the one who let Super Saiyan Gohan go Super Saiyan 2.

Man i love DBZ. Its the best anime of all time,and now heres a list of my favorite characters from it.

1. Omega Shenron (the strongest villian the Z Fighters have ever faced. His very presence is intimidating enough to render the Z Fighters hopeless.)
2. Super Buu (all forms. I completely enjoyed watching him fight. I liked his approach toward the Z Fighters,silent and with a simple command yet so atrocious and relentless......simply GREAT. I enjoyed his theme too.)
3. SS4 Gogeta (Now,a small break from villians as top picks. I like SS4 Gogeta simply because of how he was able to overwhelm Omega Shenron,and take "ultimate fighter" to the next level. Too bad he just didnt finish it.)
4. Janemba ( You get the impression he is weak at first but once he transforms,he becomes a dark and tumultuous force whose fighting style is unique.)
5. Vegeta (The Prince of All Saiyans that was crushed by Goku,although as egotistical and overconfident as he is,prides himself in thinking he can overcome any obstacle and shows pertinacity and determination in finally surpassing his rival.)
6. Cell (As a creature composed of the strongest fighters cells that was created by Dr. Gero,Cell's rationale is that he is insuperable and to prove so,he holds his own tournament to challenge the Z Fighters. Had a great theme as well.)

These would have to be my top ten characters in Dragon Ball/Z/GT

1. Goku - not to be cliche but seriously, he is not the main character for no reason, he's the strongest warrior, he's pure hearted, he's amusing (Dragon Ball) and so innocent. He's just great.
2. Kid Buu - he is such a great villian. He doesn't get annoying at all like the other villians do because he doesn't boast about his strength and he is just so crazy.
3. Piccolo - when I include Piccolo into my top 10 I'm referring to when he turns good, so not the Piccolo in Dragon Ball. I don't have an explanation as to why he is here, I just like him.
4. Master Roshi - if you have watched the original Dragon Ball series then you would most likely understand why I have included him in here. A very amusing character.
5. Hercule (Mr. Satan) - Most fans of Dragon Ball Z would not be a great fan of Hercule I'd assume, but his character brings great amusement to the show and is just well done.
6. Vegeta - I like Vegeta a lot more after the Cell saga, he has become more of a decent being (not including Majin Vegeta) but is still the same old uptight angry saiyan.
7. Nuova Shenron - unlike the other evil shadow dragons, Nuova has morals and fights with nobility. I like this about him. It makes me happy.
8. Future Trunks - normal Trunks seems to be a bit full of himself but future Trunks has grown up in a world of fear and destruction therefore he had become a more decent person.
9. Bardock - come on, if it wasn't for him Goku wouldn't even exist. On a more serious note, I appreciate his bravery when he goes up against Frieza, unfortunatly he had no chance at all.
10. Broly - one of the craziest villians in all of Dragon Ball history. He is just a mindless maniac. The first Broly movie is the best, the others were a disappointment in my opinion.

1. Gohan (not adult, but ultimate as well.): When he was a kid, he was just likeable. When he was teen, he was the best there was. Adult Gohan is a faggot. Ultimate gohan is like the next kai! Truly my favorite gohan is Teen!
2. Bardock: He is gokus father, now whats more awesome then that. He whooped everybodies ass in space, no doubt the bravest Saiyan alive!
3. Goku: Ok, when he was a kid. He was fucking awesome. He was hilarious and sure was low-knowledged. Now as a grown up, he was still awesome, but kinda wierd.
4. Vegeta: The most badass character in DBZ history!
5. Krillin: Hes just the best atagonist in the series
6. Buu: Basically, he is indestructible! Which makes him closest to Vegeta on the badass scale.

(interesting as villain and also interesting as a good guy), baby vegeta (best story for DBGT, super 17 and omega where good villains like baby actually i liked them more), but they had very crappy stories, super buu (he was fun, i wonder if i should have put him in the top 10....) it is easy to notice i like villains ....

2. Future Trunks - the man who saved his word despite all odds, and in doing so saved three of the four timelines of Dragon Ball Z. His upholding of righteousness and compassion for the planet Earth are of extreme note
3. Vegeta - the ascension he undergoes during the series, from villainous and iniquitous heathen plagued by his tormented past to valiant, courageous hero willing to put his own sake on the line for the good of others is quite extraordinary

It is villains like he and Cell that I prefer in the series because of the sophistication of their plans and the higher, more philosophically advanced motives of their combat, which are more than mere desire for brutality, oppression for its basic sake, or blinding rage, which in my opinion is characteristic of Frieza or Kid Buu
5. Super Buu - Through his own evolution he symbolizes a union of two seemingly antithetical principles: living on the edge of constant rage, and being calm, sophisticated warrior, acting with false dignity. It is the complexity as a character that he gains through his absorptions which increases his intrinsic value
6. Piccolo - Like Vegeta, he grows in his character from a maniacal persona whose upbringing corrupted his youth to a respected, composed, dignified adult who cares for others. He even goes so far as to mentor his former archrival's children so that they, together, could defeat the greatest threats of their time
7. Krillin - his bravery in battle is noteworthy, as is his unwavering loyalty to not only his friends, but to the great causes they fight for. He was present at the scene of every major battle in the canon Dragon Ball Z series, fighting alongside his friends against the invading Saiyans, the Ginyu Force, Frieza, Androids 17 and 18, Cell, Super Buu, and Kid Buu, with the last of those done at the very risk of his own existance, as fighting Kid Buu in death and dying again could have lead to his erasement from the space-time continuum
8. Android 18 - she uplifts herself from the horrors of a depraved madman to eventually help in his defeat, and resists becoming a part of his ultimate plan, Cell, out of the fundamental belief that this is not right, in effect becoming symbolic of the values of self-worth and self-identity and self-interest prevailing over counterproductive brainwashing. She goes on to reconnect with the human race that she had felt abandoned her, finding in her heart a space for a man who had found in her a spark of light, and she goes on to protect the world and her daughter, befriending her former enemies and living humbly as a fellow person
9. Future Bulma - after losing all of her closest friends to the malicious terrors of a rival genious, she uses her own wisdom and vigor to have a big role in leading the counteroffensive to reclaim the world for peace. She serves as a guide, mentor, and inspiration to her son in ways that support the guidance, mentoring, and inspiration from Future Gohan, helping Future Trunks become a more complete warrior, a more compassionate person, and a more capable individual. It is largely through her expertise and will to live on despite the chaos that the entire plan to save the past was orchestrated to fruition, and two of the four Dragon Ball Z timelines owe a large part of their salvation to her work and dedication
10. Gohan - he doesn't become a hero just because of the example of his father, and doesn't just live in his father's shadow, developing a strong sense of identity and bravery through constantly being faced with obstacles that compel him to overcome adversity. He symbolizes the triumph of willpower and the utilization of one's inner talents and gifts to accomplish whatever they can put their mind to, helping the world in the heat of many of its fiercest battles. While his overconfidence and eventual giving in to studies at the expense of his combat ability diminish his overall excellence, he still acts to redeem himself from these qualities when he realizes the inefficiencies they cause, recognizing them and dealing with those issues so that he can become more effective

1. Vegito. He's just plain awesome. The way he toyed with Super Buu was hilarious, and the fact that he was trash talking Buu, while being able to get away with it.
2. Super Buu. First, his evil laugh is AMAZING. Second, I saw a lot of him from watching the whole Vegito sequence so many times, so he grew on me a lot more then the other forms did.
3. Gohan. Gohan as a whole is just hilarious. As a kid, he does some pretty crazy things, like casually cutting off a dinosaur tail, or how flustered he got while trying to teach Videl to fly.
4. Mr. Satan. Need I say more?
5. Goku. He's surprisingly low considering his main-character status. He can be hilarious like Gohan can, and just plain naive, which is always funny too.
6. Gogeta. What can I say, I like fusion characters. I especially liked when he used the Bluff Kamehameha against Omega Shenron.
7. King Kai. I have no idea why I like King Kai so much. I guess I just do.
8. Bardock. I didn't see much of Bardock, which makes me sad. I wish he would have survived, as I think his character could have been interesting, especially with his psychic powers.
9. Trunks. His personality changes intrigue me. As a kid, he can go from acting like a kid, to acting a lot like Vegeta, to acting like a kid again.
10. That one guy who took Goku to Snake Way. Yeah, he was pretty funny in the few lines he had. I just loved the whole "He can fly." moment of his.
